Note:
Following the reduction of the postage rates to ½d. on 1 June 1932, the firm of R. H. White & Co. returned a quantity of envelopes stamped with 1d. stamps to the New Plymouth post office who surcharged the stamps 'Half Penny' with a handstamp. The covers were then returned to the firm for normal use .
