1882-85 De La Rue dummy stamps, Queen Victoria head design in brown-orange, the issued colour of the 3a., two horizontal pairs used to determine the fastness of colour when exposed to light, lettered "A" and "B" and affixed to Appendix piece (119x223mm.) dated "Sept 27. 88", the left-hand stamp of each marked at covered up and not exposed to light, the right-hand stamp of each expose to light for seven weeks during the summer
