1851-60 1/- reddish violet with good to large margins, used with 1d. red-brown pair and single (does not belong), tied by grid obliterator on 1855 (18 Dec.) front and part back from Amherst to Melbourne, showing red London Paid c.d.s. (1.1.56) additionally tying the 1d. pair and, on reverse, despatch, Halifax and part arrival Ship Letter datestamps. Despite the missing 1d. a rare franking to a very scarce destination. S.G. 1, 8

Note: Only three Prince issue covers of Nova Scotia are recorded to Australia, one of which is in the Royal Collection, and all of which are missing stamps.
