1875-92 2c. orange bisected vertically and tied by ten bar oval obliterator on locally addressed 1880 (31 May) envelope paying the 1c. drop letter rate and showing "advocate harbour/n.s." datestamp alongside; the envelope partly separated on reverse, not detracting from this dramatic and rare usage. Note: While postal regulations forbade the use of bisects in this period, it was not unheard of for them to be accepted, particularly in the Maritime provinces.
