1d. vermilion horizontal pair with roulettes at foot and traces thereof at right, neatly cancelled and sharing a superbly struck example of the "5/otahuhu/a" handstamp used by the Auckland suburban Fencibles Office which also serviced the base camp for Imperial troops and Militia during the Maori War; the right hand stamp with a surface scrape which barely detracts from the fine appearance of this rare multiple.
