SINE • CLADE • VICTOR • a female figure kneeling presents three keys upon a salver to Marlborough on horseback, CAPTIS • BONNA • HVO • LIMBVRGO • 1703 • in exergue in three lines, plain edge, 42mm, 36.79g (Eimer 400; MI ii 246/35; van Loon IV, 395), highly lustrous and richly cabinet toned in hues of blue and ochre, good extremely fine, rare in this state

This medal commemorates the chief successes of Marlborough during the campaign of 1703, which were accomplished with very little loss of life. Bonn was the first place to fall and was followed by Huy in August and Limbourg in September.
