The Armstrong Collection | NGC PF64 | George II (1727-1760), Proof Crown, 1746 VICESIMO, older laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, angles plain, lettered edge downwards, 29.89g, 5h (ESC 1669 [126]; L&S 7; Spink 3690), rich charcoal grey tone cloaking brilliant original surfaces, sharply struck uniformity to key devices, further accentuated by iridescent blues in recesses, some die softness to highest points, otherwise practically FDC, very rare, especially in this condition with only 100 examples presumed originally struck, in NGC 'Armstrong' holder, graded PF64 (Cert. #5880392-001)
