Charles I (1625-1649), Civil War Issues, Third Siege of Pontefract (June 1648 - March 1649), Lozenge Siege Piece of One Shilling and Threepence (Fifteenpence) [?], 1648, Type I, DVM : SPIRO : SPERO, thin small lettering, crowned large C•R, rev. castle gateway with flag dividing P-C, brandished arm and sword in right field, OBS upwards in left, 6.62g [101grns], 11h (Hird 270-271 same dies; Brooker 1229-1230 same dies; North 2646; Spink 3148), light surface marks at peripheries otherwise subtly toned a really pleasingly bold very fine, extremely rare, especially on this abnormal 'heavy' weight planchet
