Moore for Edmund Shorthouse, in bronzed copper, VICTORIA QUEEN - 1860, young laureate head left, 11 leaves and 7 berries, tied with ribbon, within beaded circle, rev. struck en médaille, GREAT BRITAIN - ONE PENNY, Britannia in flowing robes seated facing half-left on rock, looking left, trident in right hand, shield and olive spray in left hand, anchor fluke to left, within beaded circle, rim raised, plain edge, 10.28g, 12h (Freeman 840 [R16], dies 2/B; BMC [Peck] 2112; Adams 169; Sawden -), struck through a piece of coil at 11 o'clock, with an uneven patina across brilliant bronzed surfaces, otherwise much as struck, very rare
