William III (1694-1702), Great Recoinage, Bristol Halfcrown, 1697 B NONO, first laureate and draped bust right, B below, rev. crowned large shields cruciform, lion of Nassau at centre, eight strings, five billets, edge lettered upwards, 15.04g, 6h (Bull 1060; ESC 543; Spink 3488), adjustment to peripheries and a carbon spot in fourth quarter, otherwise attractively and colourfully toned with underlying lustre in recesses, struck details approaching extremely fine, rarely found in this excellent state
