William III (1694-1702), Great Recoinage, Crown, 1696 OCTAVO, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned cruciform shields, plain in angles, eight strings to first harp, nine billets, lettered edge upwards, 5h, 29.90g (ESC 89; Bull 995; Spink 3470), small metal flaw to obverse field, otherwise struck on a broad flan, with much attractive toning, especially to the reverse and legends, good very fine
