Charles I (1625-1649), Shillings, Tower (4) under King (2), Group D, Type 3a, no inner circles, rev. nop stops except by pyx mark, 5.99g, 1h, m.m. tun (Sharp E3/2; Brooker 509-510, North 2225; Spink 2791), doubled on reverse, otherwise fair to fine, from the Middleham (Spink, July 1995) hoard; also, Group F, sixth 'Briot' bust, 5.44g, 1h, m.m. triangle-in-circle (Sharp G1/2; Brooker 549-550; North 2231; Spink 2799), irregular flan as usual for issue, otherwise uniformly struck up at centres, very fine or marginally better for portrait; additionally, under Parliament (2), Group F, 5.51g, 3h, m.m. (P) (Sharp G1/2; Brooker 552; Spink 2800), scarcely good, clipped; lastly, type 4.4, 1645-1646, thinner bust with stellate lace collar, 5.82g, 9h. m.m. sun (Sharp G2/2; Brooker 563; North 2232; Spink 2801), toned on a fuller flan, a bolder fine (4)
