(x) The Jean-Marie Vanmeerbeeck Collection of Numismatic Portraits from Medieval Flanders and Tudor England | Flanders, Louis II of Male, Count of Nevers and Rethel (1346-1384), Gouden lam / Mouton d'Or, 12 September 1363 - 4 March 1364, Gent or Mechelen, + AGN : DEI : QVI : TOLL : PCCA : MVDI : MISERERE : NOB, double annulet stops, nimbate Agnus Dei standing left, head turned right, long cross with banner behind, LVD | CO:F' below, all within tressure, rev. + : XPC : VINCIT : XPC : REGNAT : XPC : IHPERAT, cross fleurée with central star; eagles in angles, all within angled quadrilobe, trefoils in spandrels, 4.58g [70.8grns], 12h, m.m. cross pattée (Schneider III, 140; De Mey, Flanders 182; Elsen 26; Delmonte 457; Gaillard 210; Fb. 157), a trace of striking softness, otherwise a delightful example, lustrous original surfaces accentuated by peripheral orange tone, extremely fine or very near so, rare in this condition
