(x) Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 1st Type (W. Liddle, Serjeant 75th Regiment Foot. 1838.), with original steel clip and suspension, a few small edge knocks, good very fine

William Liddle appears to have been born around 1791 and attested for service with the 75th (Stirlingshire) Regiment of Foot in 1809. The 75th spent the majority of the Napoleonic Wars as part of the British force in and around the Mediterranean islands, under the command of Lord William Bentinck.
