D.C.M. London Gazette 11 March 1920:

'For gallant and able leadership. Near Bellignies, on 6th November, 1918, he conducted strong patrols against heavy machine-gun fire. He gained valuable information about enemy positions, 2,000 yards ahead of our line, which assisted his company commander in effecting the dislodgement of enemy machine-gun posts.'

Thomas Henry Price was born in 1888 and lived at Wrexham, Wales and later served with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Transferred to the 9th Battalion prior to 1918, he was admitted to 4th Stationary Hospital on 28 February 1918 with a mild case of gonorrhoea. At this stage Price was a Lance-Corporal but - soon promoted - he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal whilst serving with the 9th Battalion in the final throws of the Great War. Surviving the war, he was demobilised on 3 March 1919.
