Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Defence of Mafeking, Transvaal, Orange Free State (19 Tpr: W. Arnold. S.A.C.), highlights polished, third clasp loose upon riband, good very fine

William Arnold, of 'A' Division, South African Constabulary, is confirmed upon the Roll with entitlement to this Medal and 3 clasps (also entitled to the South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 clasps). The Roll additionally notes that Arnold, who had been promoted Corporal, was killed in action at Abel's Dam, near Klerksdorp, on 28 February 1902. On that day his patrol was attacked and besides Arnold being killed, two comrades were also wounded in the action.
