Andrew J. Robinson served with the Royal Dragoons and first saw active duty with 'A' Squadron in Bosnia in 1998 as part of 4th Armoured Brigade. This unit was redeployed to Macedonia in February 1999 for operation AGRICOLA 1 and later moved to Kosovo on 12 June 1999. They were finally relieved in August of that year and Robinson was not to see active service again for several years.
Still with 'A' Squadron in October 2004 Robinson was deployed to Iraq, where he served from October 2004-May 2005, serving alongside the 1st Battalion, Welsh Guards to secure the border with Iran. Their role here was one of raids and arrests on high profile targets as well as ensuring the security of important facilities. Their campaign medals were awarded in Munster, Germany personally by the Prince of Wales, now HM The King; sold together with copied research including extracts from the Regimental Journal and details of their deployments as well as a nametag and three shoulder flashes.
