J. K. Leighton was born on 1 June 1923 and served in the Palestine Police from 11 May 1943. He travelled from South Africa to Rhodesia in September 1957, at that time present with the Staff Corps and noting his residence in England at 14 Tawiton Street, Gordon Square, London.
