Four: Wireless Operator C. A. Tucker, Royal Air Force

1939-45 Star; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals 1939-45, mounted as worn, good very fine, together with mounted miniature awards (8)

C. A. Tucker enlisted in the Royal Air Force at Euston in October 1940 and qualified as a Wireless Operator (Air Gunner) on 19 May 1943. Having completed further training and served in the No. 1 Ferry Crew Pool at Melton Mowbray in March 1944 and thence joined No. 3 Aircraft Delivery Unit at Oujda, Morocco. Throughout the remainder of the Second World War he was deployed in this region and also in Italy, and his Flying Log Book details no less than twenty four different aircraft types in which he flew; sold together with his Observer's and Air Gunner's Flying Log Book (Form 1767), covering the dates 6 April 1943-29 October 1945.
