South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp, 1877-8 (Lieut: J. McPherson. 1st. City Vol: Rif:); Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, no clasp (Mr. J. G. MacPherson. Imp: Mil: Rly:), very fine (2)

Served as a Clerk with the Imperial Military Railways during the Boer War; although these appear to be one and the same man, it remains possible it is a father and son.
