Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (Asst. Surgeon. T. J. Biddle. Medl. Staff.), engraved naming by Hunt & Roskell; Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Delhi (Asst. Surgn. T. J. Biddle, 1st Bn. 8th Regt.); Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian die (Asst. Surgeon. T. J. Biddle, 8th King's Regt.), fitted with clip and ring suspension, engraved naming, mounted upon buckles with frayed ribands in relic condition, Medals, very fine (3)

Thomas James Biddle was born in 1834 and served as Assistant Surgeon with the 49th Regiment in Crimea from 13 Septmber-23 December 1854 (Medal & clasp). He latterly served with the 8th (King's) Regiment at the siege and assault of Delhi including the repulses of 14, 18, and 23 July, the capture of four guns on 12 August, the six days’ fighting in the City, and the capture of the Burn Bastion (Medal & clasp). He died at Yately, Hampshire on 17 May 1879; sold together with original Baptism certificate for his son.
