General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Iraq (D-34835 Pte. C. H. Price 1-D. Gds.), very fine

Charles H. Price was born in Barking, London and enlisted in the 5th Dragoon Guards in mid-August 1919, aged 18 years. Having deserted at Colchester a few weeks later, he clearly returned to the fold and was transferred to the 1st Dragoon Guards. He is confirmed as having been awarded the above Medal & clasp for his subsequent services in the Iraq operations of December 1919-November 1920, when his regiment formed part of 7th Cavalry Brigade, 18th Division; sold with copied entry from the Police Gazette of 1919, reporting his desertion.
