H. R. Alexander is confirmed upon the Roll with this Medal and Clasp. He was Regimental Transport Officer of the 2nd Battalion 21st (Royal Scots Fusiliers) Regiment of Foot throughout the campaign (The South African Campaign of 1879, p.338, refers).
