Ashantee 1873-74, 1 clasp Coomassie (Lieut: H. R. Boyle, 2nd Bn 23rd Foot. 1873-4.), contact marks, nearly very fine

Hamilton R. Boyle was born in London on 3 February 1849 and was commissioned Ensign by purchase on 30 September 1868 with the 23rd Regiment. Promoted Lieutenant on 1 November 1871 he was serving in this rank during the Ashanti campaign from 21 November 1873-25 March 1874. His Medal was issued to him at Aldershot.
