Thomas Hirst
entered the war in France on 27 November 1915 while serving with 11th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment. Hirst was still with this unit when they were engaged at the Battle of Menin Road Ridge in September 1917. During this engagement he was wounded on 21 September; sold together with copied research including M.I.C., a London Gazette extract as well as medal rolls and extracts from The West Yorkshire Regiment in the War.
