U.S.A.: Stratton's Independence Ltd., 2s 6d shares, 2 shillings paid, [1908], #406, decorative title and scrollwork at left, green. Winfield Scott Stratton, Cripple Creek's first gold millionaire, sold his Independence mine at the height of the boom to English investors with a capital of £1,000,000. The company was soon reorganised with a more realistic capital as this piece reflects. Two small tears to top and left edge, pin holes, AVF.
