Great Britain: Claridges Hotel Ltd., £10 shares, 188[3], #374, decorative black printing. Founded by William and Marianne Claridge who began running a hotel in a single house at 51 Brook Street. In 1854 they purchased the adjoining five buildings and opened Claridge’s in 1856. In subsequent years the hotel was visited by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and quickly became popular with Royalty and celebrities worldwide. VF.
