British East Africa: British East Africa Corporation Ltd., a group of certificates comprising; ordinary 10/- shares, printed capital increasing from £200,000 on the first, overprinted with £300,000 in the next, printed as £300,000 and later £500,000, the latter with two varieties showing change of registered office, all fully paid varieties, also together with part paid 10/- shares, capital £200,000 and £500,000, dates ranging from 19[13] to 19[25]. One of the oldest of the Kenyan trading companies, formed in 1906. Exported cotton and other produce and imported goods from Great Britain and Europe. Absorbed by Mitchell Cotts in 1946. Mixed condition (7).
