Great Britain: Highgate Archway Company, a small group of 5 certificates of £50 shares, London 18[10], #584, #585, #590, #591 and #592, attractive black printing, on vellum, red wax paper seal at left (missing on #590 and #592. Formed to cut a tunnel through the steep hill at Highgate, North London, which collapsed when almost complete, forming the present cutting. The company then built the bridge across, which was rebuilt at the turn of the century. Much toning otherwise VF [R7] (5).
