Owned 'Rooi Koppies', Witwatersrand. Sir Frederick Eckstein, 1857-1930, a partner in Wernher, Beit & Co. pioneers in the mining industry on the Rand. Created a baronet in 1929 for services to the Empire and in the Sudan. F-VF.
