British East Africa: Imperial British East Africa Company, £20 ordinary shares, London 18[89], #228, vignettes of company arms with elephant and lions head and various native spears in scrollwork at left, black. This important Chartered company, formed in 1888, controlled the region now Kenya and Uganda until the territories were made British Protectorates later in the 1890's. VF and rare.
