Australia: Great Northern Copper Mining Company of South Australia Limited, 5 shares of £2, 1859, #10241-5, coat of arms in centre, green. The mine, along with a few other English owned properties was at Nuccaleena. Despite a rocky start the mines produced good amounts of copper but transport costs were very high. Money ran out and the mine was closed in 1864 which, according to an inquiry of 1876 the main cause was incompetence. VF and scarce.
