(x) U.S.A.: Proprietors of the Woman's Journal, $50 shares, Boston 187[0], #3, signed by Henry B. Blackwell as treasurer, plain black printing, stub reattached at left. Henry Browne Blackwell (1825 - 1909), a social and economic reformer. One of the founders of the Republican party and the American Woman Suffrage Association. He was publisher of this journal from 1870 with Lucy Stone, a fellow abolitionist and suffragist, later to become his wife. The stub notes the shares were transferred to their daughter Alice Stone Blackwell. GVF.
