(x) U.S.A.: National Heating Company, $100 shares, 18[88], #431, signed by Theodore Vail as President, lovely vignette of heating system, green and black. Not cancelled. Theodore Vail (1845-1920), first President of American Telephone & Telegraph between 1885 and 1889 and again from 1907 to 1919 utilising his position to consolidate telephone networks using the Bell System. On his death in 1920 all telephone services were suspended throughout the USA for 1 minute during his funeral. VF.
