Norway/Great Britain: Hannevigs Bank Limited, £5 shares, 19[18], #237, signed by Hans Hannevig as Director, vignette of Viking ship top centre, black and grey-green, red seal, printed by Waterlow Bros & Layton. Part of the Christopher Hannevig shipping and financial empire starting with ship brokers in 1914 in Oslo and London. The group grew during WWI with the demand for ships of all types. Financial difficulties ensued and much of the group was bankrupt by 1924. A rare piece, VF.
