Great Britain: Hope Insurance Company, £50 share, 1807, #4179, signed by John Capel, a London stockbroker. Attractive vignette of 'Hope' standing at the foot of a column, scrollwork at left, black. A large concern established in 1807 with a capital of £2 million. The company lasted for a few years but we cannot find any further information. AEF and scarce [R8].
