The Chin Lushai Expedition
1890 (24 Mar.) 1½a. stationery card ex the Carte correspondence to Ireland, cancelled by the rare "sub. field. p.o. no2/r" c.d.s. and showing Pakokku and Bombay datestamps. The card, headed "Kan", includes "The Expedition is over. I am first to leave going to Mandalay to-morrow" and "we have got everything we wanted without fighting". Also a similar card from the same correspondence 15 days later, cancelled by "mandalay-town/mandalay" c.d.s., the message including "just got back from Chin and probably stay here for duty pro temp". Both creased though a rare pair
