Housman"E" Coy. 4th Battalion Kings Royal Rifles Thayetmyo", countersigned by Commanding Officer, bearing 9p. tied by "thayetmyo" squared-circle d.s., the envelope torn and damaged in transit with "found open and officially sealed" label at left cancelled by Bromsgrove c.d.s. with manuscript "Received from Birmingham in this state" alongside on reverse; the letter (portion missing due to damage in mail) includes description of expedition to Fort Sadon and Chin Hills related to him by soldier in Devonshire Regiment
