1824 (26 Dec.) soldier's entire letter ex the Saunders correspondence to Somerset, headed "Lines near Rangoon", countersigned by Commanding Officer, showing "madras/soldiers letter/free" c.d.s. in red, "india soldier &/3/london" (In. Sol. 5 - scarce) and, on reverse, "Poonamullee/post free" across join. Somewhat soiled and battered though with fascinating contents regarding the fighting, complete with transcript
