1872 (5 Jan.) envelope registered to Italy, bearing 8a. tied by diamond of thin bars (Type K1), showing framed "insufficient" (applied at Calcutta) partly obscured by Italy Postage Due 30c. vertical strip of three and, on reverse, manuscript "above ½oz, Insuffit", light "mandalay" c.d.s. in red (Type D1; latest recorded date) plus Calcutta and Brindisi transit datestamps; small tear at top near adhesive. A very scarce and attractive franking
