1812 (6 May) entire letter sent during the Napoleonic War from Deux Ponts, Mont-Tonnerre a part of the old Palatinate which after the Vienna Congress became Bavarian Palatinate and subsequently in Rheinland-Pfalz today, paid by sender “P100 P” (Port Paye), to Mayence (Mainz today) and paid 4 Décemes which was the inner French postal rate of 1810 (8 grams for 100 kilometres). A scarce and desirable item in very fine condition
