A group of covers with Plate Ib, DJ (good to large margins) tied by oxidised red Maltese Cross on 1840 (21 June) wrapper from Peterhead to Falkirk, crease through the adhesive, MD (touching to large margins) cancelled by bright orange-red Maltese Cross on 1840 (20 July) local Edinburgh wrapper and SC (small to very large margins) tied by dull red Maltese Cross on 1840 (17 Dec.) entire from Manchester to Kendal (light toning); Plate VI, OD (close to large margins) tied by two strikes of oily red Maltese Cross on 1841 (4 Jan.) letter from Sunderland to Guisbro bearing a fine strike of “West Boldon/Penny Post” handstamp, OH and PA (cut-into in places) cancelled by black Maltese Cross on 1841 (14 Apr.) entire from Cirencester to London; Plate VIII, KD (mixed margins) well tied by a black Maltese Cross on 1841 (20 Mar.) wrapper from London to Darlington bearing a fair strike of “T.P./Stoke Newington” at left, KG (small to large margins) cancelled by red Maltese Cross on 1840 (28 Sept.) wrapper from Southampton to London bearing Southampton and one other Penny Post handstamp, vertical crease through the adhesive; NH (small margins) cancelled by a light strike of black Maltese Cross on 1841 (16 Apr.) entire from Oban to Inverary.
