Sikh Empire, Misl Period (VS 1822-56; 1765-99), AE Paisas (6), Peshawar, distinctive tri-lobed leaf design, rev. Persian legend fulus zarb alkai Peshawar, all different, some overstruck on issues of Amritsar (Herrli 13.05.11; KM 95), fine to very fine, scarce

Herrli notes that these coins have the date AH1265 (27th November 1848 - 17th November 1849). This means that the coins may have been struck by the Afghans under Dost Muhammad, as they controlled Peshawar at this time, although it was still nominally under the control of the Sikhs.
