The Rymer Collection | Edward VI (1547-1553), Third Period, Fine Silver Issue, Halfcrown, 1553, Tower, King crowned and in armour holding sword, on large misproportioned horse walking right, reads AGL FRAN Z HIB, rev. reads DEV.' and MEV.', long cross fourchée over shield, 8h, m.m. tun [Thomas Egerton] (Vaughan-Morgan 173 = Lockett 1908 = Shuttlewood 268; North 1936; Spink 2481), struck from unaltered dies, but heavily circulated as encountered with this issue, toned, only mediocre to good, but extremely rare with only 8 believed extant
