Alfred Thomas Taylor was born at Colchester on 4 September 1872 and first saw active service with the 10th Hussars during the Boer War. He enlisted in the Royal Marines Light Infantry at London on 6 October 1903 as a musician. Having served in France from 2 April 1917, he was issued with his L.S. & G.C. Medal in September 1919 and was discharged in October 1920; sold with copied Service Record.
