Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Cape Colony (13133 Tpr: A. C. B. Langston, 52nd Coy. Impl: Yeo:), note first initial, nearly extremely fine

Nathaniel Cyril Beresford Langston was born on 10 April 1877 at Westminster, London. He served with the 52nd (Paget's Horse) Company, Imperial Yeomanry from 17 March-30 October 1900; commissioned February 1901 into the 32nd (Montgomeryshire) Company during the Boer War. After the war he joined the Transvaal Civil Service before emigrating to Canada as a Rancher.

Upon the outbreak of the Great War, Langston enlisted in the Canadian Forces (No. 181182) on 26 April 1916 at Victoria BC. He initially served in France with the 3rd Canadian Pioneers in August 1916 before being transferred to the 7th Canadian Infantry on 19 May 1917. He was killed in action, aged 40, on 10 November 1917 and is buried in the Poelcapelle British Cemetery.
