Hungary, Miklos Toldi Medal, 33mm, silver, hallmarks to rim, good very fine and rare

Miklós Horthy de Nagybánya was Regent of the Kingdom of Hungary. The Medal was awarded in his name for sports performance and as such could be awarded to both military and civilian personnel. It was established on 25 June 1936, just before the 1936 Berlin Olympics in Berlin. From 1936-45, it was conferred just 111 times, of which 44 Silver Medals were bestowed.
