George Frederick Bush was born in 1892 at Bethnal Green, understood to be the son of F. Bush, who served during the Boer War (his Queen's South Africa Medal sold as Lot 54). Bush lived at Great Cambridge Street, Hackney Road at the outbreak of the Great War. He served in France with the 12th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers from 6 October 1915 and died of wounds on 24 July 1916. Bush is buried in the Greenwich Cemetery.
