Edward Bush was recalled from the Special Reserve to serve with the 13th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers on the Western Front from 18 August 1915. During the Battle of the Somme, they were photographed by Lieutenant E. Brooks on the Albert-Bapaume road near Albert after the attack on La Boisselle, 7 July 1916.. Bush was discharged on 21 March 1919.
