Edward Maurice Ford was born on 17 September 1882 at Basingstoke. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on 7 April 1915, he served in France with the 18th Divisional Train. Having been advanced Captain on 5 June 1917, he ended the War at that rank. Upon demobilisation he returned to his home in Basingstoke however soon moved to Quidhampton, Overton, Hampshire. Ford was farming on the outbreak of the Second World War and appears on the 1939 census as an A.R.P. Warden. He died on 25 August 1964 at Micheldever, Hampshire.
